Current Season: Epiphany
- Epiphany begins on January 6, after the 12th day of Christmas. Epiphany is a season that symbolizes two things:
- First, Epiphany is a season about Christ’s revelation to the whole world, Jew and Gentile alike. The traditional first reading of the season is that of the Magi arriving from the east, having seen a star arrive in the sky. Emmanuel–God with us–is not for one people, but for all peoples.
- Second, Epiphany is a season of Christ’s glory manifesting and revealing who he is. In Epiphany, Jesus reveals himself to us as he did to his disciples: in small glimpses of his glory.

Coming Season: Lent

- Lent is the name for the season leading up to Easter.
- The theme we are using this year is the wilderness. Wilderness is a common theme in the Bible for a place of testing where someone or a community encounters God and learns how to follow God. Whether the Israelites leaving Egypt, the Jews in exile, or Jesus being tempted, the wilderness is an important place of discipleship.
- Lent is technically 46 days long, including 40 days of fasting and 6 Sundays.
- Ash Wednesday Service: February 18 @ 5:30
- Liturgical Color: Purple

- Recommitment
- Renewal
Current Sunday School Classes (9am):
- Mere Christianity
- This class will study the book Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. He emphasizes those beliefs which have been believed and taught by almost all Christians at all times. He wants to avoid the doctrinal disagreements among Christian groups. His intention is to make Christianity more attractive to non-believers. He starts with the Moral Rule as evidence for the existence of God and proceeds by steps to the crucifixion of Jesus and its implications for salvation and the Christian life.
- The Gospel of Matthew
- Join us to read the story of Jesus’ life, according to Mathew! Matthew is the first “Gospel” of the New Testament. The Four Gospels are pictures of Jesus’ life, written by followers in the first century! Join us to reflect on what the Gospels teach us about God, people, salvation, and how to follow Jesus!
